Armiversary is a celebration of life, love, and light.
This celebration takes place on the anniversary of the surgery that changed my life forever. The procedure removed the aggressive tumor I was fighting for 6 years. However, in order to remove it, I had a forequarter amputation of my right arm, shoulder, and chest wall. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through, but it gave me my life back.
We gather to celebrate Armiversary to remember that life is full of challenges, but we do not face them alone. This is a time for me to show my appreciation for my friends and family who make up Team Bennett.
It is also a time for us to laugh and have fun while appreciating the challenges I face without my dominant arm. Alicialympics is a series of events and activities that give you the chance to challenge yourself. It is an opportunity to appreciate the different adaptations that I have to make with this disability.
Whether you join us in person or in spirit, I invite you to participate in the festivities. It is the love and support from everyone who has crossed my path that has kept me going when things get tough.
Thank you for being a part of my journey!
